아무도 모르는 사실이지만, 사실 유락yoorak이라는 프로젝트는 아이디어 수준, 아무런 실체가 없을 때 이미 적지 않은 곳에 이름을 알린 바 있습니다. 어느 신문, 어느 에세이 잡지, 어느 글쓰기책의 책날개 등에 유락이라는 이름, 혹은 유락의 존재가 실렸습니다.

전혀 의도한 것이 아니었고, 홍보 목적도 아니었지만, 의외의 순간 효과가 있었습니다. "포기"라는 단어가 눈 앞에 아른거릴 때마다 마음을 다잡아주는 버팀목이었달까요? 공공연하게 여기저기 뱉어 놓았는데 이제 어쩔 수 없다, 갈 데까지는 가보자, 는 심정이었습니다.

오늘은 유락yoorak의 정식 오픈일입니다. 그동안 "지금은 없지만 정식 오픈 때는..." 하며 뱉어놓은 말이 많았습니다. 결국 대부분 이뤄내지 못했습니다. 자체앱 개발, 라떼 메뉴 추가, 원두 패키지 제작, 카페 어플리케이션 및 포스터 리디자인, 3층 인테리어...

꼭 오늘이 아니어도 조금씩 이뤄갈 생각입니다. 중요한 건 꺾이지 않는 마음이니 말입니다. 가오픈과 정식오픈의 차이는 12월 31일과 1월 1일의 관계와 같다고 생각합니다. 달라진 건 없습니다. "좋은 스페셜티 커피를 합리적인 가격으로 마실 수 있는 공간을 만들자", "이 공간에서 고객들이 좋은 경험만 하고 가게 만들자"는 목표는 전혀 변함이 없습니다.

유락yoorak이라는 이름이 오래오래 많은 사람들에게 긍정적으로 기억되길 바랍니다.

Though it's a little-known fact, the 유락yoorak project had already made its name known in various places even when it was just an idea with no tangible form. The name or the existence of yoorak appeared in a certain newspaper, an essay magazine, and on the book flap of a writing guide.

This was not intentional nor for promotional purposes, but it had an unexpected effect. Whenever the word "give up" flashed before my eyes, it served as a pillar of support to gather my resolve. Having publicly mentioned yoorak here and there, I felt there was no turning back now; it was a commitment to see it through to the end.

Today marks the official opening of yoorak. Over time, I made numerous promises such as "it's not available now, but by the official opening..." Unfortunately, most of these have not been realized. These include developing our own app, adding a latte menu, producing coffee bean packages, redesigning the cafe application and posters, and the interior of the third floor.

Even if it's not all done today, I plan to achieve these goals step by step. The important thing is to maintain an unbroken spirit. I liken the difference between a soft launch and an official opening to the relationship between December 31st and January 1st. Nothing has really changed. Our goals remain unchanged: "Create a space where people can enjoy good specialty coffee at an affordable price," and "Ensure that customers have a great experience in this space."

I hope the name yoorak will be remembered positively by many people for a long time.
